All persons are called to holiness, as Catholic we call this the Universal Call to holiness, a VOCATION. Holiness means to live the life given to us by God to the best of our ability, within the context of our lives. Holiness means to be the best versions of ourselves. This means we love, and love through Service to others. Two Sacraments signify this call to holiness, this service to others, the Sacrament of Matrimony and the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
The Vocations, the calling, to Matrimony or Holy Orders, signify how giving our self in service to others, either to a spouse or to a community offers life for others and is part of God’s call to all of us to give.
Vocational Ministry supports those living out their calling as a Spouse or as Clergy, or those discerning their calls.
Our teams consists of Rick & Susan Goebel, Josh & Karen Totten, Thomas & Theresa McCrorey, and David & Megan Azzi.
To offer prayer in support of these Vocations, each week we ask households to take home a Chalice along with prayers, to place the chalice on a table and as a household pray each day the prayers given. Then return the Chalice to the parish office by Friday 4:30pm or Saturday 12pm.
The chalice itself will be given to the household at the mass they attend. The chalice will be used at that mass.
To volunteer to take the chalice Click HERE or you can email Megan Azzi at mazzi@snowsnv.
The Chalice used once belonged to Monsignor Leo McFadden, long time Pastor here at Our Lady of the Snows. Msgr Leo passed away in 2013, after a long and distinguished ministry here in the Diocese of Reno.
