Reno, NV, January 7— The Northern Nevada Dr. MLK Jr. Memorial Committee in cooperation with the Nevada Interfaith Association invites the community to the 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Memorial Service.
The event will honor Rev. William C. and Mrs. Violene C. Webb from the Second Baptist Reno Church and ACTIONN a grassroots & non-partisan organization that fights for racial and economic justice in Northern Nevada with The Reverend Onie Cooper Humanitarian Award for their incredible humanitarian work in Northern Nevada.
They will also give the first Speak Truth to Power Award presented by the Reno/Sparks NAACP to local artist Joe C. Rock and Emily Hernandez for their courageousness with their actions to defend human rights in Northern Nevada.
The event will also include the inaugural Global Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Keynote Competition presented by the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC). The winner and keynote speaker is Marwane Mohamadi from Algeria.
