Thirteen teens attended the Steubenville NorCal Youth Conference last weekend. They are on fire and need your help in keeping this enthusiasm going. Here are some ways you can help to keep that fire burning:
These questions were given to us by the conference, you might want to ask them:
What did your experience at this conference show you about God's love and His plan for your life?
How can you bring this conference experience back to your parish, youth group, high school, family, etc?
What is one thing you can do to foster your relationship with Jesus after the conference and every day?
What did you learn about the church?
How can you be a witness of Jesus Christ and share your faith with others?
Points heard throughout the weekend that are good conversation starters:
From the opening session, remind them they belong to something bigger than they can ever imagine. Remind them
they are children of God and He loves us as we are.
From Rachel Leininger, the second speaker, remind them that God doesn't need anything. But he wanted more. He
wanted us to exist. He redeemed us and wants us to be saints, to be with Him throughout eternity.
From Fr. Leo on Confession: Go to confession to learn the language of God's love where you can say I'm sorry, and
you hear God say I love you and you belong.
From Fr. Leo: God has planted good things in you. We can take our W.E.E.D.S. and apply them to Mass. W stands
for work. We don't go to Mass to be comfortable, we have to work to go to Mass, we have to work and participate. E stands for education. We have to continue to educate ourselves about our Catholic faith. E stands for enthusiasm. We have to let God into you so you can give God to others. We must be enthusiastic about sharing our faith. And D stands for discipline. A disciplined person is humble and continues to learn.
From Oscar Rivera: God is calling us to greatness.
We are all called to be ministers to our youth. Thank you for your assistance.
