A ballot (Question 6) issue this November seeks to amend the abortion law here in Nevada. There are several parts of this that are of concern, even beyond that of Abortion itself. It removes all parental notification requirements which benefits child traffickers among other bad actors. It permits non-doctors to perform abortions which will damage women. It permits abortion at all stages even until the actual moment of birth. As Christians who value human life, we cannot permit the pro-abortion forces to succeed. They will use misinformation and fear to trick people into thinking that they will lose all access to abortion if they do not pass this amendment. That is simply not true. SAFE ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
For volunteers who work with children and youth at Our Lady of the Snows Church the Diocese of Reno is committed to the safety of our children and vulnerable adults. We are in full compliance with the Dallas Charter and remain diligent in maintaining this compliance.
All Volunteers must sign up and participate in the Safe Environment program which includes a background check and reading the bulletins.
Those involved with Children will need to submit a fingerprint check in lieu of a background check, and also read the bulletins.
Bulletins offer up to date ways in which we can potentially recognize those children or vulnerable adults who are in danger.

OLS Welcome Home Project
All Invited! Welcome Home Project This project has been years and years in the making. It started way before I got here, and I was asked by parish leaders to restart it. We have worked hard on this and even got a $7M gift towards this project (for a total of ~$14M pledged).
We need to bring this to completion NOW, or it will be never.

CSA 2024
Each year the Diocese of Reno has its annual appeal to raise the necessary funds for the various ministries, e.b. Youth and Young Adult, Vocations, Religious Education.
Each parish is assessed a goal to raise (ours is $168,000). Anything over that goal is 90% returned back to the parish to use as they need. 10% of the Rebates goes to assist those parishes that struggle financially.
Our Lady of the Snows for years has great exceeded our goals and earned nice rebates which have been used to build up our building fund and our sister parish fund. WE WANT TO CONTINUE OUR SUCCESS! So we ask all parishioners to make the pledge. Any gift from 1$ and more helps. We would love more and more people to contribute to this worthwhile endeavor.

OFFICE HELP NEEDED
The parish is in need of some volunteers to help at the parish office. We need people to please come in for an hour in order to give our front office staff a lunch break. You can come in between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm for a one hour block of time. It requires minimal experience and you will be trained on how to answer the phones and use of office equipment.
